First of all, Adsense is the system that Google has created to allow companies to advertise using their vast search engine reach that spans the internet.
This same system pays website owners for displaying these ads as viewers take action based on the ads displayed. This is passive income, in that you are only displaying them.
Google tracks all the actions and pays you based on a number of factors, and it can indeed be a source of some really good money for you once everything is in place.

Most experienced bloggers know that Adsense can generate a sizeable source of additional income. That is why most of them use it to go after high paying keywords because these attract the best commissions as well.
They do research and determine what keywords are best to use that are congruent with their website content and indeed have planned the niche website so it will draw in the maximum number of targeted site visitors.
Many times they go through all the work of researching, writing, adding images or video, and marketing only to find they are making much less than they anticipated…

Having the pages with the proper keywords and placed properly for SEO is one thing. But still, driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often there are one factor or another that is lacking.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. Once a visitor has landed on a certain page you have drawn them to, they quite naturally have the tendency to click on another page that sounds interesting.
Your mission is to keep them on your page as opposed to bouncing to another website. Therefore placing links on the original page that will capture them is important.
Making it convenient for them while they are on your website is all about what I call site navigation. This also involves maximizing your Adsense earnings. Here’s how…
A typical website has menu links on each page. The wording on these links is what grabs a visitor’s attention and gets them to click on one of the links that will take them to another page of that website.
Links that have “free’ or “download” are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.
This navigation logic can also be applied to driving traffic to your high paying pages. There are some websites that are getting a lot of traffic from search engines but have low earnings.
The trick is to try and use come cleverly labeled links to get the visitors from that page and navigate them to your higher earning ones. This is one great way of turning real cheap clicks to real dollars.
Before you begin testing if this will work for you and your website, you need to have two things:
(1) Something to track and compare and…
(2) Some high earning pages you want to funnel your site traffic to…
Try this linking strategy on a few of your most frequently visited pages. This will ensure fast results.
Think of ways to get visitors viewing that popular page to click on the link that will take them over to your high earning pages.
Come up with a catchy and unique description for the link. Think of something that people do not get to see every day.
That will trigger their curiosity enough to try and see what the page is all about.
Consider using graphics to grab your readers’ attention…Maybe an image, and infographic, or a video…
There is no limitation to what you can do, whatever it takes that fits and will make your link noticeable.
Just be creative.
Also, remember that it is all about location, location, location. Once you have the perfect attention-grabbing description and visuals, you need to identify the perfect spot on your page to position it so people will notice and take the desired action.
I would do a little more research at this point and see what some of other popular blogs in your niche are doing. Do not copy, but emulate. Are they using a particular sort of image, and where is it placed on their page…
Make the placement headline and visuals unique to your website and your brand. “Hot pages” or “Most read” lists are very common and overused already, so come up with something more original.
Try different texts and sizes on different pages. Test to see which is working more effectively, and adjust…Continually test and improve, and over time you will have only links that are working.
Let the testing begin… Test and track until you find the site navigation style that works best for you site.
