Wealthy Affiliate Review Update
This is my updated review of Wealthy Affiliate for 2016. Please read on and find out why I have rated this as the best option for you to build an affiliate marketing company that will generate income for years to come.
Likely you know about this company already. There are lots of reviews of it to be found on the internet. If not you are in the right place to learn why I say this.
Whatever your reason may be, I say you are at the right place now to find out more about Wealthy Affiliate, what it is, what it can do, and why I think it is the most effective online education program…
How Long Has Wealthy Affiliate Been Around?
Wealthy Affiliate, The Open University Project is 10 years old. They started way back in 2005, ages ago in the internet world! The idea way back then was to provide a legitimate and ethical affiliate marketing platform, which they have done and continue to provide today.
At the start, in 2005, the internet was booming, and due to the many scam sites out there (still true today unfortunately) there was an ever- growing need for such an affiliate marketing training provider who would provide top training, first-rate tools, superior support and provide a community where all could get help, whether a newbie marketer starting an affiliate marketing venture, or an extremely experienced online marketer seeking such support.
The other thing that was prevalent back then, and is true today, is that many such sites bombarded you with upsells, special offers, and etc. This put many people off back then and it still does. People just needed a place to learn a legitimate way to earn money online.
Just as now, there is nothing more off-putting that when, right after you join a training program or site, you are hit immediately with a message that you need to buy an additional product that may cost $100’s or even $1000’s of dollars.
The site co-founders Kyle and Carson realized that and this was not their approach in 2005, and that has remained so until right now in 2016. You simply will not get that with the Wealthy Affiliate program they have developed.
Instead, you find that can join for free, get training in how to build your own Internet business, actually build your site without having to spend a penny for the week. You do not even have to provide a credit card! This is a welcome relief for many people.
It’s now 10 years later, and they are still in operation and having much more success now than ever. This is remarkable for an online marketing business.
If you do some research (which you likely have done to have gotten here) you will know that most Internet businesses of this type usually stay around for a few years and disappear without a trace.
You likely saw that some of the prior flash in the pan operations include such names as Your Net Biz, Carbon Copy Pro, Zeek Rewards, or My Shopping Genie, are all gone.
These were quick risers that flamed out when people saw that they did not provide good value for the money.
Not so at Wealthy Affiliate.
Why?
Here’s my quote on the subject:
“At Wealthy Affiliate, they provide what they say: You will learn affiliate marketing!”
Some of the companies mentioned above were hugely successful and generated millions of dollars initially and did so quickly. There was a lot of buzz surrounding them.
It seems, however, that such businesses have a short shelf life because many making that massive amount of income very fast tended to focus more on selling their products instead of providing value for their clients.
Their approach was to offer high ticket products as a part of their program, make the money, and focus more on getting members selling their products rather than providing detailed training as members expected.
Much like Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) business model, the focus is more on recruiting new members and selling these expensive products than providing real training. Such a business is untenable over time, as evidenced by their demise.
Wealthy Affiliate, on the other hand, is focused on providing real training and service to their members. The co-founders, Kyle and Carson have done that from day one, and it keeps getting better for Wealthy Affiliate members.
It is apparent that the reason why this company has moved onwards and upwards over the last 10 years is that they really care about their members. They are focusing on the needs of their members.
Let’s compare Wealthy Affiliate with another site that claims to offer a similar program called Empower Network, you likely have seen advertisements for this site as well:

What Are Wealthy Affiliate Member Needs? Simple: Real Training!
Wealthy Affiliate provides this training to a level provided nowhere else I have found, and I have tried other sites that purport to offer such training, and at the end of the day, they did not.
Wealthy Affiliate co-founders Carson and Kyle do not focus on making money from upsells or products, instead, they have created a site that focuses on helping over 300,000 members to reach their own specific goals by helping them build their own successful online businesses.
Remember the other companies that popped up and disappeared were more focused on money. Cash sales were the key factor for their business model, it was not helping their members succeed over the long term. Big difference!
Sure it is good to sell those high ticket products and have other site members do it for them so they would get huge commissions of say $500, $1000, $3000, $5000 or more, but if there is no value the market for selling such malarkey is quite limited just as with most MLMs.
There are simply not that many people who will pay for these products.
Plus this was, and still is, a huge amount of money for many people. There were people that may have paid $24,000 to such extremely buy high ticket products, but most nowadays realize that same money could buy a brand new car or go towards buying a property, or some other worthy investment.
If people do pay this big money they deserve to get the best. For online training programs, if these amounts are paid, people deserve to get access to first class products and training. Unfortunately, there are still the scammers out there that take the big money but do not fulfill their end of the bargain, they more or less are cheating their customers.
This is NOT the case with Wealthy Affiliate. You don’t pay that huge amount of money upon joining. In fact, you can join for free and then you get a trial full site access for 7 days. You read that right – it does not cost you a penny during this 7-day trial. The only investment is your time, effort and commitment.
Once the 7 day trial period is over you can then join as a Premium member at a 59% discount to the regular pricing the first month. That costs $19 only. The next month after the discounted month the cost will be $47 and this cost remains the same every month thereafter if you continue with their membership.
To save you money, at any time after joining you can choose to upgrade to an annual subscription and save 36%. This brings your monthly cost under $30! This cost to do this is $356 one-time payment and from that point, you will be paid for the year ahead.
Note that subscribing at all for a premium level membership is optional and if you like you can remain as a free starter member, and can still build a successful online business.

This is very good to know. They don’t suck you in with a “free offer” then ask you to spend many thousands of dollars of your hard earned cash for any ‘essential’ product, or ask you to sell such stuff to others while asking you to pay them for the privilege of selling their product!

It really is as simple as this!
As you go through the steps of training and have chosen your niche they show you affiliate programs to consider joining that may be relevant to the niche you have chosen.
For example, if you chose a niche of ‘weight loss’ the training will then give you guidance on how you can find related affiliate ‘weight loss’ affiliate sales programs that you can then promote and sell on your niche website.
Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Research Tool
Another essential tool that you get access to when you become a member of Wealthy Affiliate is a free keyword tool. Optionally they have a more advanced keyword research tool for you to use on a trial basis as well.
There is again a simple video training provided that will show you how to use this free keyword tool to find keywords related to your niche that best suited for writing blogs and articles on because they are less competitive than others which seem like ones to use, but based on competition, really are not .
As mentioned, choosing the right set of keywords allows you to write content such as blog posts and articles around these keywords that, when added to your website, will draw in traffic to the site.
You probably know about search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo. These engines like to see that you are adding fresh, new, and original content that is of high value to its intended audience and if you follow this practice consistently you will see your blog posts and pages starting to get ranked quickly.
Then when people using the Internet for searches on subjects they are interested in the keywords you have used in your posts and they are looking for will also start to see your website because it shows up on the search result pages.
Of course, this then leads to possible sales for you. The more you get people that are looking for the keywords you have used that then drive such targeted traffic to your website, the more sales there is chances for you to make.
In my full blown Wealthy Affiliate site, as well as my FAQ page on that site, you will see why the Wealthy Affiliate training goes deeply into keyword research. Essentially it is because they know already from many years in the business that this is what will help you to build a good long term business.
Sales and Commissions
Remember that with affiliate marketing the real hard work is done at the start, when tasks such as keyword analysis and writing content are in play, those pages and posts that you publish on your website will be around for years, getting high ranking search results, and traffic and sales for you all the while!
Of course, this means more sales will build over time as you continue to work consistently to add to your information offered on your website and more traffic results. When someone clicks on one of your affiliate programs or products and buys you will get a commission. More traffic, more sales.
Note the commissions vary in value depending on which of the many affiliate programs you have signed up to sell on your website. Real products generally range in the 8-10% commission, while digital products normally are around 50%.
One sale may give you a commission of a few dollars whereas another a much larger amount…
These sales can happen every day of the year and during all hours of the day. You are always open, and your work was done at the start. What an opportunity!
Over time, affiliate marketing can indeed be a very lucrative online business for you. There is every reason to think that you can eventually earn enough to do this work on a full-time basis, many others have done the same, and it can replace income from a regular job.

A very strong additional point that I have not mentioned to now is the community support that you receive with Wealthy Affiliate. This is so helpful if you are an affiliate marketing beginner because you will need guidance and reassurance.
Many members of Wealthy Affiliate have been members almost from the beginning, so they have years of experience to provide help to you when you have questions or problems.

“I signed up for Wealthy Affiliates exactly 11 days after I lost my brother to cancer in August 2012. I settled in my mind right then and there that nothing was going to hold me back from living life to the fullest and setting out to do what I felt God was calling me to do.
Since early 2000 my father always told us 6 children about this Affiliate Marketing and how people were making a killing online. “Where should I begin, I was in desperate need of finding a true legitimate place where I could learn about Online business. I had been searching for years and years, as a result of all this research I have been scammed quite a few times and lost thousands of dollars due to these scams.
That still didn’t stop me from something I had, that was a dream, I knew there was something out there. I kept looking, at the time I had just lost my job and was looking around for online opportunities.
I eventually picked up a seasonal job, and I got involved in a company called Ameriplan. The company seemed like the real deal, because they had support and training, so it was nothing at all like after you buy the program you never hear from them again.
I was with them for a little over a month, but after I found out what you had to do to get sales and make money I decided it wasn’t for me.
I was back to where I started but wasn’t going to give up, Actually I happened to find Wealthy Affiliate by searching for negative reviews about Ameriplan. I Googled Ameriplan scams and Eddie Salomon’s site came up, I clicked on it and read about Ameriplan and how it wasn’t meant for everyone.
I scrolled down a bit further and there was an article about Wealthy Affiliate on there, so I read it and loved what I read and clicked on over.
I joined Kyle and Carson’s Mailing list read the emails, and about a month later I ended up joining.
I have never seen a place like WA anywhere, It provides you with everything you need to get started learning online business. When I joined a year ago they didn’t have no free membership, I had to fork out the money up front.
If you really are serious about starting a business online, this is the only place you will ever need. “I have been a premium member since June 15, 2012, and I became a member of the WA for a number of reasons – first is to keep learning – this is the coolest journey I have been on and I want more and more of it each day.
I also want to share the Wealthy Affiliate with as many people as I can – everyone needs to know about the WA.
And the MOST important reason I joined is to have the opportunity to give back.
I have been online for 11 years and making a full time living online for 8 years and I remember when I first started online – there was no WA so learning was by trial and error and like everyone else I paid my fair share of money to so-called gurus and make money online scams hoping to find the secret for making money online.
Oh and by the way – there is no secret.
Everyone knows you can get the services you need to have a website up and running from a hundred different companies – you can get the tools you need to run your business from a ton of different resources.

Thanks for taking the time to look through this updated post on Wealthy Affiliate for 2016. I like to have a relook every 6 months or so, because they keep on adding to the capability of the site with new information as things change in the IM world and it gives others a chance to see it as well.
No that is another great point on the site. You can try it for a week and get provides the complete program. You have the ability to make your free websites, take the sources, have full access to the questions and answer section, the tutorials, the webinars, etc.
Really a risk free way to see if the program is for you. I can say that there are literally hundred of thousands of members there, and knowing the the site has been arpund for 10 years, a lifetime in the world of online educational sites, is a testment to the value it offers!

Yes Wealhy Affiliate is certainly the best online education site for learning affiliate marketing, and many of the lessons are as valuable for other online marketing segments as well. This is exactly why I am asking people to try the best effective Online Marketing course! : )
For me the toughest part of getting a start was the web site and blog set up. I had played around making a couple of sites in the past, but truthfully they were woefully amateurish. Here I was able to get several effective sites that really looked professsional compared to the earlier efforts.
Wealthy Affiliate has also provided me so much additional training to hone my writing skills, ;earning what to write (keywords) and how to make sure that proper search engine optimization was done (SEO). I really had paid very little attention to that aspect of online marketing but Wealthy Affiliate training explains clearly why this is so important.
The program is effective too. I had been earning a small amount from online sales prior to joining the educational site, but it has quadrupled since the start point, and keeps rising every month! It is a work in progress, I am continually working to improve things through the excellent guidance found on the Wealthy Affiliate site.

Just today someone asked me how much I had lost to online scams before I found Wealthy Affiliate. I’m sure it’s over a $1000. But that’s not the worse part. The worse part about all those scams is the time I wasted.
Wealthy Affiliate changed my life. It’s not a secret or magic or some kind of special software. Wealthy Affiliate simply teaches how to build a legitimate online business.

Yes I am the same as you. I was hoodwinked by a couple of guru sites that really were just selling their products not the education needed to really have your own program that covers the full spectrum of the business as opposed to selling their products…
Wealthy Affiliate is just that…No bells and whistles, although it is a most thorough program, and no huge upsells they push you to sell over learning how to properly set up your own online marketing business. If you look through the list of members, there are some that have been with the site for many years.
Many memebrs are making over $10k USD a month in commissions from their online efforts, and of course a larger group that is on their way to doing so. But it is heartening to see that through diligent work, done consistently, that over time you will have a viable business that YOU created and run from wherever you want…
This is one program I can ethically promote (I have more) and realy ENJOY promoting! It is so nice to see the “aha” moments as people come on board and achieve success, confidence in their abilities, and go on to help others do the same. That is exactly what Wealthy Affiliate is all about!

Very nice blog post! Its simple and easy to read. I also like the use of images keeping it very visual which keeps visitors reading. I need to take some notes on your site for when I make mine! It explains everything pretty clearly and any visitor reading it will have a very good and clear understanding of what WA is and if its for them and how to get started. Good job!

Their review system, their lessons, the tutorials they have available, the webinars, the membership and much more ALL make this post possible and have it look as good as it does. There is always room for improvement, of course, so I do try daily to do something along those lines!

What I like most about WA is the ‘Try before you buy’ approach is awesome. You are allowed into every part of the Uni before you make your mind up. That is a powerful sales techique and I think It works well.
The community is great and almost all have the pay it forward attitude.
It is definitely a place I would recommend for any newbie online.
You have done a very good job with your thorough review.

One of the reasons I wrote an updated post for this site is I wanted people to see what the best online marketing course was all about. I could go oon and on regarding everything it provides, but if I can prod people into just having a look, I am sure they will see for themselves.
I recommend this site to all my friends as well. If they are serious about learning how to get an effective and proper online marketing program in place, this is where they need to be. There is an encyclopedia set worth of information to be found there, and members are very supportive.
