    1. Good Day, Herman!

We do appreciate the time you are taking to look through our newly published overview series covering the many features and benefits of the SMART(ER) Business Network! This tells us that we are on the right track in putting these together for members and prospective members!

It is evident that you have picked up on the intent of the series (layout and structure of the episode blogs) and also the mantra that we follow for all of our actions – it is about being there for our members and affiliates so they can experience success with their business ventures.

Certainly, we have looked at the affiliate program from a user perspective and also a vendor perspective to design something that will work out best for both parties. As affiliates too, we know that having a robust program, a fair commission rate that is lifetime and recurring, and where you can get recognized and awarded for taking action and getting results matters – a lot!

The SMART(ER) Business Network Affiliate Program will continue to develop over time as we fine-tune the training, the coaching, the marketing materials, the commission rates, etc. We are trying to add cutting-edge techniques and are tapping into our SMART(ER) AI Staff members to develop this further!

      Cheers!

  2. The SMART(ER) Business Network Affiliate Program seems like a game-changer for those looking to earn through affiliate marketing. The idea of being rewarded fairly for promotional efforts, with even non-members having a chance to join, is refreshing. I’m intrigued by the exclusive dashboard for members, offering marketing materials and insights. The focus on integrity is commendable. The promise of unlimited possibilities, lifetime commissions, and extra training is enticing. I’d love to hear more success stories and examples of how affiliates have thrived in this program. It’s exciting, and I’m eager to explore further and potentially tap into these opportunities.

    1. Hello, Liam!

Nice to see you checking out some more of the SMART(ER) Business Network Overview Series episodes, your questions and thoughts are very useful and much appreciated! Affiliate marketing is one aspect of the network is a feature that all members can tap into no matter the business model they may be using to build their business.

It could be as simple as answering a query from whoever they are working with as to how they got an idea or some resource, or an approach and they can recommend the network and if that person asking follows through and ends up as a paying referral, they earn a commission.

It goes further than that with our program too. Any subsequent purchase that referral makes from anything we offer will also result in a commission being paid. That referral is a lifetime for the referrer. You could potentially earn 3 times, 4 times, or more over time!

The way it works is in general low-ticket items offer a 20% commission and high-ticket 10% for non-paying members of the affiliate program. The exception to that general commission rate is for the member shop, which is where most members should go to purchase from us. Why?

As paying members they get access to this special shop where only members can buy at the prices indicated. They then can apply a 10% discount to that purchase to save even more. For those purchases, we pay 10% affiliate commissions.

This is to help members get what they need to grow their businesses. The stuff that is out there is often quite expensive, and part of that is due to the higher commissions (which most often are NOT recurring more often for referrers).

The commissions for items referrals buy in that shop can result in commission earnings again and again, so in the long run all benefit from the payment structure. We get sales, the buyer gets a deal (and often buys again or more), and the referrer also earns again and again.

As paying members, we add in a 5% bump for all commissions earned (with the exception of the resource shop as mentioned above). So Low and medium-ticket items result in 25% commissions rather than 20%, and high-ticket items (i.e. DFY membership, drop-shipping, niche blog sites, or small group coaching, as well as 1-1 coaching offers) earn 15%  versus the regular 10%.

To spice things up, we also have a monthly contest in two categories: one for numbers of referrals that upgrade, and the other for total sales figures. There are cash prizes for these and minimum sales or numbers to qualify, but we feel that this is a way to recognize outstanding efforts by our affiliates.

Naturally, we know that new affiliates are going to need extra support, and even seasoned affiliates will appreciate gaining access to additional training, coaching & mentoring, and support from the SMART(ER) Business Network team. So we are building this into the program too.

We will continue to work this program as time goes on to make it work for our affiliates as best possible while also taking care of the Corporate needs of turning a profit. It does not have to be a huge profit, but some – a reasonable amount.

Regarding examples of how people have benefited, I can only refer to earlier programs that we have had in place where similar conditions were in place. Our affiliates have been well-compensated for selling real-world products and services such as consulting projects, and believe it or not drinks – at one point in time we manufactured a line of drinks and flavorings throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The site is relatively new, as is the affiliate software tool we have migrated to, so this is all going to grow as we get more data such as courses and support materials migrated over from the older sites. This is why we also are sending out regular updates to members. It is a fast-moving train!

The idea at the end of the day, however, is to make sure that all stakeholders are winners. The affiliate, the referral as they are introduced to the network, and the company behind it all. It is possible we believe and we will make that a reality for all…

      Cheers!

  3. Your latest podcast episode on affiliate programs was a great listen, Dave. I found the insights into how businesses can leverage affiliates to expand their reach quite informative. It’s interesting how you discussed the importance of setting clear expectations for affiliates. Do you have any specific tips for businesses to establish a win-win relationship with their affiliate partners?

The discussion about tracking and measuring the success of an affiliate program was particularly insightful. In your experience, have you seen certain key performance indicators (KPIs) that tend to be more crucial than others? I’d love to hear more about the analytics side of this strategy. Thanks for sharing this valuable episode, and I’m looking forward to more in-depth discussions on affiliate marketing.

    1. Hello, Pasindu!

Thanks for the kind words, we definitely are trying our best to provide what entrepreneurs need to plan for and implement a strong business plan that is tailored to their specific situations and that does include affiliate marketing in most cases.

Quite naturally, we also emphasize the possible approaches that affiliates can use, depending on the overall business strategy that may have been designed for their business. There are certain core elements that we think should be in place for all the affiliates too.

We provide certain tools to measure the effectiveness of the content they prepare and publish, i.e. traffic, click-through rates, etc. and we also provide advice during regular weekly coaching sessions where we cover a set agenda normally and then open the floor to questions…

To increase the motivation to take action, we have added recognition programs such as cash prizes for stellar performers on a monthly basis and we provide recognition within the community and academy for these people. People do like to be recognized for their efforts and although they say cash is not a motivator, I agree to disagree (it can be – to a degree haha).

We also do monthly recruiting contests to get more eyeballs on the network, and affiliates can dovetail these with regular efforts via content or video/social, etc. to provide incentives for prospects to join the contest and the network.

Right now, the key indicators are time on page (i.e. landing page, video site, or on an opt-in page), click-through rates, upgrade rates, and programs selected (dollars earned for the corporation through upgrades). If we are talking email campaigns, it would be open rates, click-through rates, opt-in rates, sales, and percentages of bump offers selected for sales orders that we measure.

We also have a dedicated affiliate manager position and we are planning on adding a SMART(ER) AI Staff member who is dedicated to assisting all affiliates as they create their strategies and content for the promotions they are launching.

I am sure that you would add some valuable insight to the program, feel free to join and get started!

      Cheers!

  4. Hi! I think Episode 5 of the “Smart Business Network” is a great addition to the series. The focus on the Affiliate Program is particularly interesting, as it shows how businesses can leverage partnerships to reach a wider audience.

It’s a reminder that in today’s interconnected world, collaboration is key to success, and this episode provides some valuable tips on how to make the most of affiliate programs.

    1. Hello, Jake…

I think for most businesses, affiliates are another good way to get the word out about what it is that you have on offer. The commissions paid are in a way money that would be spent anyway on paid ads and the like, so there is a low cost involved in setting up an affiliate program.

Most certainly email list building and following that up with email marketing campaigns works best, but a strong second in my opinion is having affiliates out there promoting your business for you. They also do not cost anything until the sale is made and the money received is quite a different model from paid ads.

There are other benefits for the business owner. A lot of great insights and feedback can be received from affiliates who may see areas of opportunity or new ways to approach sales from their perspective. These insights you would miss out on with no affiliates n board.

Thanks for your feedback, have a great day!

      Cheers!

    1. Hi, Leonard!

I am happy that you are enjoying the video portions of the episode of the SMART(ER) Business Network Overview series. They hopefully will be used by those who prefer not reading through a long blog post!

      Cheers!

  6. Promoting a business and earning affiliate revenue, is a great way of building passive online income. You mention that non members can also become affiliates, but do they earn less commission than paid up members?

I notice that you have a tiered commission system. So is it a multi level marketing (MLM) business model? How many tiers are there in the business model? Thank you for expanding.

    1. Hi, Line…

Members and non-members can apply to become affiliates and earn a commission on paying referrals that join the network. The approval is automatic for members, and for nonmembers, we do ask for a little information on how, where, and to whom they propose to promote…

In regards to commission rates, the standard is 20% for non-members and free members, and for paying members there is a 5% bump to 25%. This commission may sound like it is a bit low, but it is higher than Amazon or many other large programs and there are more added benefits too.

For instance, there is a lifetime link that you get with all referrals so that if they join as a free member using your link, you will get credit for any purchases they may make today, tomorrow, or whenever, for life. There are more opportunities than membership to earn with too.

We have a member resource shop and soon a membership option where your referrals can buy resources, tools, and services at low prices and get a discount too (as you can as a paid member) of 10%. For purchases on that site, you will earn 10%.

For high-ticket items, we pay 10% commissions or 15% if you are a paid member. Things like small group coaching programs or 1-1 coaching programs are in this category. We will have a schedule on these when we open the programs up.

Additionally, the SMART(ER) Monthly Recruiting Contest is an opportunity to earn cash prizes (we have the same type of contest within the affiliate program too where we award action-taking affiliates with cash prizes and recognition monthly) and use this as a lead magnet for your prospects to join and try for free the platform for 7-days.

We provide extra training for affiliates, marketing materials, lead magnet kits, swipe files, sample blog posts, keyword lists to focus on to get free traffic with content for blog posts, videos that explain the network, and a dedicated affiliate manager to help out the affiliates.

Lastly, we provide weekly live sessions where we provide coaching and mentoring and answer any questions affiliates may have about the program. Altogether, we think our program is going to teach members how to earn faster and more.

If you have any moe questions, just drop a line and we will get back to you!

      Cheers!

      Coach Dave : )

  7. Thank you for shedding light on the SMART(ER) Business Network’s affiliate program and its generous rewards system. It sounds like a fantastic opportunity for aspiring affiliates. Now, I’m curious to learn more:

Can you provide specific details about the various commission tiers and how affiliates can progress through them? What are the criteria for moving to higher commission tiers?

Could you share some success stories or examples of affiliates who have thrived within the SMART(ER) Business Network? How did they achieve their goals and increase their commissions?

You mentioned recognition contests. Could you elaborate on what these contests entail and how they contribute to the affiliates’ experiences?

Lifetime commissions sound intriguing. How does this aspect work, and are there any specific conditions or requirements for affiliates to continue earning from their referrals over an extended period?

Thank you for providing insights into this exciting affiliate program!

    1. Hi, Demi…

The program we have developed combines what I consider to be great features of other affiliate programs I have been a part of and promoted, as well as ideas and “I wish we had…” from my perspective as an affiliate. Now that I am on the other side of the equation, I have a chance to make the I wishes happen.

Many programs offer 50 percent or more commission on a one-time basis, and that is okay, but you lose the chance to ever earn again from the referral. Other programs pay for a few iterations and then no more. Some of these are good programs and the high-ticket items may make the effort worth it, but in many cases, I do not think so…

Also, those programs that pay a high commission rate also have overpriced programs, due to the extra high commission rates, so there are many prospective members in our case that will not be able to afford to join or stay within the membership…

To meet in the middle, we have settled on the 20% rate for non-members and free members for low-ticket items such as membership to the network. For the resource shop, open to members only, there is a 10% commission for purchases from an affiliate’s referrals.

For high-ticket items, we have a 10% rate, as of now there are no active offers but there are some in the works. The 10% seems low, but remember we are talking anywhere from $1000 to $4000 price, and a huge investment of time and effort (i.e. examples might be DFY premium websites, premium membership site sets of 10, small group coaching, 1-1 coaching, or premium tool sets).

Now, good news for paying members:

      (1) They will get a 5% boost in commissions other than the resource shop (we offer a 10% discount on already low prices to help all members keep their costs as low as possible – we want them to use the resources to build a viable business at low cost).

      (2) Their referrals are for life and recurring. That means that if the sale and commission are from a recurring membership, the affiliate gets paid for life for every purchase and the extension of membership.

      (3) The recognition portion involves the monthly contests we run for our recruiting contests and for affiliates who perform and attain sales and referrals. These involve cash awards and recognition within the network for their outstanding performance.

      (4) Longer term we may do some other things like have an annual conference, but we are just starting so that will not be possible at the moment, I do like the idea of that and combining virtual summit sessions with an on-the-ground event might be something we will look at shortly (next year).

      (5) We provide training, materials, and resources for marketing, and finally. coaching + mentoring to affiliates regularly (sessions weekly that are archived and available for review 24/7 as we know members are all busy people and may not be able to attend live).

      (6) In the past, we have paid out monthly for commissions earned to affiliates after the refund period has passed. That means that we know there will not be a refund request or processed as that period has passed and we can safely pay out the commission.

      (7) We use PayPal generally to pay out commissions, but other options are possible if needed. If the potential affiliate has any such special requests, they can add them to their application so we can help them out.

In regards to success stories, we have been paying commissions for other businesses in the past and affiliates have been well compensated for bringing home the bacon so to speak (the commissions involved selling food, believe it or not so literally they brought the bacon home to the clients!)…

As I said, this other side of the affiliate equation makes a lot of sense for the vendor too, as they have an Army of affiliates promoting their offers and they have to pay only when sales are closed and money is received and cleared.

But it is important to us that the affiliate has what they need, the training they need, and the support they need to have success with their promotion efforts, We are willing to go all out to help them.

The good thing too is that they can combine their affiliate efforts right alongside whatever business model they may be pursuing. How natural is it to provide information when one of their clients asks questions about how they are doing their business and how they got started or grew? Easy to provide a referral link and help that person out.
